Basic Wiki Administration

This tutorial will discuss some administrative tasks that you can perform on your wiki, including controlling access to the site and reverting to earlier versions of a page.

See Recent Changes

To see a list of pages in a group that have been recently changed, click the Recent Changes link from any page in that group.

You will see a list of links to pages that have been changed, along with the date of the last change. If the Author box was filled in when the page was edited, you will also see the name of the person who made the edits. Note that you do not see what the edits are, though if the Summary box was filled in when the edit was made, you will see that information here.

To see the edits on a particular page, first view the page and then click the History link.

The history for this page will display. For each recent edit to the page, the history shows the portion of the page that was changed with before and after snapshots.

Revert to a Previous Version of a Page

The default wiki configuration allows anyone to edit the pages in your wiki. This can result in unwanted edits, whether accidental or malicious. Fortunately, the wiki software gives you an easy way to revert back to a previous version of a page.

View the History of the page you want to restore, and find the change you wish to remove. Click the Restore link directly under that change.

If you have password protected editing for this page, you will be prompted to enter that password. The Edit Box for the page will display, with the page in the state it was before the the change was made. Click Save to revert back to this version of the page.

The page will now look exactly as it did before that change had been made.
