This tutorial assumes you are adding an event to your own calendar only. See our other tutorials for information concerning submitting an event to another user's calendar.
From the calendar view, which you can access by clicking the Calendars icon on the left of any Web Calendar window, you can quickly add an event by entering the date, time, and title in the quick add box at the top right of the screen and clicking the + sign.

Note that the quick add box will always enter an event in your own calendar, even if you are currently viewing another user's calendar.
If you need to enter more detail with your event, for instance you are entering a repeating event, then you should bring up the Add New Event screen to enter your event. There are several ways to bring up the Add New Event screen:
In the Add New Event window, enter the desired information in the appropriate fields. You can click Add New Event from this window or, if you wish to enter more information about the event (a repeating event, for instance), change the text style of the entry, make the event private, or set up an email reminder or invitation to the event, you should click on the appropriate tab to enter the additional information first.

Click the Advanced tab to set up a repeating event. Choose how often to repeat from the drop down list, and either set the number of times to repeat or the end date of the repeating event. You can also enter additional information about the event such as building, room, contact information, and event privacy.

Click the Emails Tab to set up an email reminder for the event. Select how far in advance you want the reminder sent and the email address(es) to whom the reminder should be sent. Hint: Reminders set for 30 minutes or less before the event may not arrive in your Inbox in a timely fashion. You can also use this window to invite anyone with an email address to your event or to list addresses of people who should be notified by email when the event is changed. Note that in all cases you can use the AddressBook... button to select email addresses from your Web Calendar Contacts list.

Style Tab
Use the Style tab to set the event title style (bold, italic), size and color and to associate a URL or image with the title, if desired.
When you have finished entering all information for the event, click Add New Event.
