The battery pack may not be fully charged when you receive the camera. To charge the battery, plug the AC power adaptor into the DC IN slot just below the battery pack on the camera. Allow approximately 2 hours for a full charge, depending on the current state of the battery.
Tip: For longer battery life, use the Viewfinder and not the LCD display when recording video and use the AC adaptor when using the camera to transfer or view video.
Slide the Open/Eject button (A) on the bottom of the camera. The outside lid covering the cassette compartment will snap open. Gently push the lid in the direction of the arrow (B) to open fully.
The cassette compartment will pop out to accept the cassette.
Insert the cassette with the cassette window facing towards the open lid and the metal contacts facing out.
Close the compartment by pressing Push on the cassette compartment.
The cassette will move into place. Once the cassette is in place you can close the outside lid until it clicks shut.
