The Office of Educational Technology (OET) has a Sony DCR-TRV17 MiniDV digital video camera available for loan to faculty members. To reserve this camera, contact your OET Instructional Technologist. If this is your first time reserving the camera you will be asked to schedule a 15 minute training session when you pick up the camera.
The camera uses MiniDV tapes, which you must supply yourself. These tapes are available at the bookstore and at other retail outlets in the area. A tripod and wireless microphone are supplied with the camera. The wireless microphone requires two AA batteries.

In scheduling your loan of the camera, allow sufficient time for transfering the video from the camera to some other format (computer, VHS, DVD). However, because you will be keeping your MiniDV tape, you do not need to transfer or edit the video immediately after returning the camera. If you plan to return at a later date to carry out these operations, please remember to also reserve the camera for that time. Please also contact your Instructional Technologist if you will be requiring assistance.
