To add a new printer, connect your computer to the network and open System Preferences from the Apple menu.Click Print & Fax.

Click the + sign at the bottom of the Printers list.

Select IP from the toolbar. Select HP Jet Direct - Socket for the Protocol drop-down. Enter the Printer IP that you noted from the label on the printer or the table above in the Address box (Printer IP may differ from that shown below). Replace the value in the Name box with one that makes sense to you, and fill in the Location box, if desired. Choose Select a driver to use... from the Print Using drop-down and in the list below that select the printer model you noted from the label on the printer or the table above (Printer Model may differ from that shown below). Click Add.

If the Installable Options window displays, click Continue without checking any boxes.

The printer you just added will automatically become the default printer for your computer (indicated by its listing in bold). Most likely, you will want to change this. Do so by selecting your preferred default printer from the Default Printer drop-down on the Print & Fax pane of System Preferences.
To print to this printer, open any application and select File > Print... Use the drop-down Printer list to select the printer with the name you gave the printer and click Print.
