Forgotten Moveable Type Password or Username

Your original Moveable Type username is the same as your Allegheny username. We recommend that you do not change your Moveable Type username. If you have done so, and now forget your Moveable Type username, please call the Help Desk at 2755 for assistance.

If you never changed your Moveable Type password, look for the email that was sent when your weblog was originally set up. This email will contain your default password.

If you cannot find this email, or if you changed your password and have forgotten it, click the Forgot your password? link on the Moveable Type log in page.

In the window that opens, enter your Moveable Type username and enter the Moveable Type password hint that you set up when you changed your password. You must enter this hint exactly as you typed it when you set it up. Click Recover.

Note: If you do not know your password hint, call the Help Desk at 2755 for assistance.

After clicking Recover you will get a message saying that your password has been changed and the new password has been sent to your email address. Once you receive the email with your new password, you should log in to Moveable Type and change your password to one that you will remember.
