Quick Post Bookmarklet for Movable Type

A Quick Post Bookmarklet is a great way to make posts that reference the web page or site that you are reading with one click of the mouse.

1. On the lower right hand corner of Movable Type's entry page click on the 'Setup a QuickPost Bookmarklet' link to get started configuring your Bookmarklet.

2. You will then be asked what options you would like to show up whenever you go to make your post. Check the box next to each item that you would like listed. When you are done click Create. If you are not sure which options to check just take all of them. You can remake the bookmarklet later if you wish to remove some of the options.

3. You will then see a page with two links on it. The first will say 'QuickPost'. Drag that link onto the links or bookmarks toolbar. (If your links toolbar is not visible, go to View>Toolbars and click Links.) You will see on your links/bookmark bar. If you click it, a window will pop-up with the Create New Entry Page. You'll notice in the Entry text section there will be some HTML code, which is a link to whatever website you were at when you clicked the link.

4. The second link is to add a function to the Windows right-click menu. This is only an option for your personal computer. College owned computers are not configured to allow users to install this option.
