Allegheny Webmail is available off-campus for reading your Allegheny email using a web browser.
Entourage is not supported by the Allegheny Help Desk. we recommend that you download and configure Eudora. Eudora is available in paid, sponsored, and light modes, with the sponsored and light modes being free. You can download it from the Eudora website.
Once you have installed and opened Entourage you will need to open the Edit Account Dialog Box
Open the Tools menu.
Select Accounts
Click on the Mail tab and click on New
If the Setup Assistant appears select Configure Account Manually
Under the Account Type pop-up menu, select POP and then select ok
In the Edit Account dialog box
enter your Account Name as whatever you want this E-mail address to be called, perhaps Allegheny E-Mail
Under Name enter your name as you would like it to appear in ougoing messages.
Under Email Address enter *your_username*@allegheny.edu for instance for John Smith smithj@allegheny.edu
Under Account ID enter your username ex. smithj
Under POP server use this chart to determine what server to use.
| Incoming Server | |
| Students | smailin.allegheny.edu |
| Employees | emailin.allegheny.edu |
Under Password enter your Allegheny E-Mail Password. Defaultly this will be your initials followed by the # sign and then your student ID number without the leading 0. So if John Smith's ID# was 0123456, his password would be js#123456
Under SMTP server screen enter the Outgoing (SMTP) email server of your Internet Service Provider (for example, mail.alltel.net if you are using the Allegheny/Alltel Internet Service or mail.zbzoom.net if you are using Armstrong Zoom Cable Internet; students on Gatornet should enter smailout.allegheny.edu).
This should successfully get Entourage up and running. For limited help please contact the Allegheny Help Desk at extension 2755, or via E-mail at help@allegheny.edu
