Discount Internet Access for Allegheny Students and Employees:
Off Campus Students & Employees

Allegheny College in conjunction with Alltel Internet offers discounted Internet for Allegheny students and employees. For $15.95 per month you can have unlimited dialup graphical access to the Internet, allowing you to access your campus email and web pages, and transfer files to and from your home. Microsoft Internet Explorer is supported for Usenet news, Email and Web browsing. Employees and off-campus students who have their own phone bill should follow the procedure below. Contact the Telephone and ID Coordinator in Bentley Hall at 332-2748 with any questions about signing up for the service.

Off-campus students & employees - instructions for getting an Internet connection:

1. Download the Alltel Internet Access form, complete the form, and email it to the Telephone and ID Coordinator in Bentley Hall.

2. By registering for the Allegheny/Alltel Internet Service you agree to abide by the College and Alltel Internet policies on computing and its uses. These policies can be viewed online at:

3. The account representative will contact you when your account has been created and tell you which Log-in ID was used. If you have not heard from Alltel within a week, call them at 1-800-225-8358.

4. Information about setting up your computer to use the Alltel Internet Service can be found on Alltel's website at http://www.alltel.net/customersupport/dialup_support.html. The default information is listed below. Contact the Alltel Help Desk at 1-800-990-4449 or support@alltel.net if you have any problems with the Alltel Internet Service.
