Importing Netscape Bookmarks into Internet Explorer Favorites

You can import your Netscape bookmarks into Internet Explorer Favorites easily using Internet Explorer's Import and Export tool.

Before you begin the import, decide whether or not you would like to import the Netscape bookmarks into a new folder. If so, you must create that new folder before beginning the import.

To create a new favorites folder in Internet Explorer, click Favorites > Organize Favorites...

In the dialog window that opens, click Create Folder

Type the name for your new folder (Netscape Bookmarks in the example below) and click Close.

Now you can begin the import of your Netscape bookmarks. In Internet Explorer click File > Import and Export...

The Import/Export Wizard will open. Click Next. Choose Import Favorites and click Next again.

Browse or type the location of the bookmarks file you wish to import. On Windows2000 machines, the default location of a Netscape Bookmarks file is C:\Home\Main\My Documents\Netscape\bookmark.htm Click Next.

You will be asked which folder you wish to import the bookmarks into. If you created a folder for the imported bookmarks select it now and click Next.

Click Finish and the bookmarks will be imported into Internet Explorer favorites.
