- Open Microsoft PowerPoint, from the Start Menu
select:
- Programs
- Microsoft Office
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Once PowerPoint opens, this window will appear.
Verify Blank presentation is selected then click OK.

- Once you have selected a Blank presentation, the
New Slide window will appear. This window allows you to select from
the choices offered including title pages, charts, images or movies
and text.
- Select a title page slide, by double clicking
the title page slide as shown.

Once the slide opens, enter the necessary text.

To add another slide to your presentation, from
the menu at the top of your screen, select Insert, then
New Slide.
- Save your file now by selecting from the menu:
- File
- Save
- Name the presentation and click Save

To includes images select a slide such as this
one. Note: Images should be
optimized before inserting.

Once this slide is open, to add
an image, double click where it says "Double click to
add clip art" from the gallery. This will open the Microsoft
Clip Gallery.
- Once the Microsoft Clip Gallery opens, choose
from the many categories offered by clicking once on the category
name.

- To insert an image from the Clip Gallery:
- click once on the image to select the picture
- then click OK
- Once the image has been inserted into the slide,
fill in the title and text of this slide. To add another slide follow
the instruction in step 6.
- Once you have several slides you can review them
in the slide sorter. From the menu select View then Slide
Sorter. A view similar to this will appear.

- From this view you can rearrange slides by selecting
a slide, then drag and drop into a new location.
- To add a background design to your presentation,
select from the menu:
- Format
- Apply Design Template
- Once you select a design from the list, click
Apply

- To view your slide show, from the menu select
Slide Show, then View Show.
- To change the transitions from one slide to the
next. From the menu select Slide Show then Slide Transition.

- Once you locate a transition for your slide show
click Apply to All. To view this change repeat step 16.
- If you need more notes to follow while giving
your presentation, use the Notes feature. This allows you to add
notes to the bottom of each slide. These notes appear only when
you print the presentation, NOT while viewing it. An example of
a "Notes Page" is given below. To see this option, from
the menu select
- View
- Notes Page

- Be sure to save your presentation as explained
step 7. Saving your work often can save you hours of work in the
event of problems.
***Please note many PowerPoint files are to large to fit on a diskette
to transport to Smartclassroom to do your presentation. Therefore,
use WSFTP Pro to upload to the network for storage(and backup).
Then you can download your presentation into any smartclassroom
you will be using. Refer to tutorial on WSFTP
for assistance.***
