Technical and Network Services have received confirmation that the inability to connect to off campus internet services is a problem that Windstream, our internet provider, is experiencing.

Windstream is working on correcting this situation.

As we learn more updates will be posted.

Cutting Over to New Internet Feed: Possible Internet Disruption

On Tuesday, October 2, 2007 from 5:15^pm to 5:45^pm, there might be a short Internet disruption as the new hardware and feed are put into place.

The new feed will utilize new more reliable hardware which is expected to provide a more reliable connection to the Internet.

Change Password Form Unavailable

The systems administrator just notified User Services that he has a few bits of maintenance that he needs to perform on the server that runs the online password change form. This maintenance is to clean up a few loose ends that linger from the problems experienced yesterday with the server. The password change form will be unavailable until further notice.

Addressing Network Hardware

Users in Carr Hall and Wise Center experienced lack of network connectivity because of power fluctuations over the week. The issues in Carr Hall were addressed by rebooting the network devices.

Users that cannot connect to the network should email (computing@allegheny.edu) or call (ext 2755) User Services to report their problem.
