Datatel R18 Ready Tuesday 8am - 10/23/07

Everyone can sign on to Datatel using the UI interface Tuesday morning, 10/23/07, anytime after 8am. This includes Colleague, Benefactor, and WebAdvisor. Informer is not yet ready for use. AIS started the R18 migration at 5pm last Thursday and worked through the weekend to continue the migration. By Monday morning R18 was ready for our "test group" of users to start using the system, and as of late Monday afternoon, thanks to all the feedback we got from the test users, we believe we can now open R18 up to all users. Check back for updates on Informer.

Here are some things you need to know to help your encounter with R18-Production:
1. Password
If you changed your password from the R18 default while you were testing R18 last week, you should use that password.
If you didn't change your default R18 password, use it. The pattern is Fl!nnnnn where
F = First name initial-upper case
l = Last name initial-lower case
! (explanation point)
nnnnn = last 5 digits of your Allegheny ID number

Note--WebAdvisor and Informer passwords have not changed.

2. If you are signing into Colleague, be sure to choose database R18-Production. This is the live version of R18.

3. If you are signing into Benefactor, choose database benlive

4. The first time you log into Datatel, you will be told your scripts are out of date and must be refreshed. Click OK to update your scripts.

5. After the scripts are updated (takes 3-4 minutes), you have to re-login to Datatel.

6. The first time you get into Datatel, the application setting will be UT. You MUST change this via the App tab to the application you want to use (ST=Student system, CF=Financial system, FR=Benefactor). From then on, the system will remember the application you chose.

As with any large project like this one, you may find things that don't work. If you do find any of these, please report them to User Services.
