Before connecting to GatorNetwork you must first read the policy regarding its use. The Allegheny College Computing Policies describes the responsibilities of the students and the consequences if the policy is not followed.

We recommend certain minimum system requirements to give you the best possible use of GatorNetwork. The minimum requirements are listed below.

Any computer capable of running Windows 98 SE/ME/NT/2000/XP
40 GB hard drive (recommended size)
Network Card - 10base T Ethernet network card (RJ-45)
RJ-45 network patch cable (straight through type)

Software Recommendations:
Allegheny College requires Trend Micro OfficeScan for students who want to connect to our network and provides it at no charge to these students. We recommend FTP software such as AceFTP and for email we recommend Eudora. We also recommend Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, etc) since that is what we use in the public computer labs around campus. This will make it easier to work on papers both in the residence hall rooms and the public labs.
