It will take up to three days to process your request to add additional devices to the network. If you are connecting a router it may take longer if you do not provide the necessary documentation for your specific device.

How to set up your Nintendo GameCube

  • Remove the GameCube's ethernet adapter from the system. Be sure the system is turned off and unplugged.
  • Write down the adapter address that is printed on the underside of the adapter (this is your MAC address) and fill out this registration form.
  • Replace the ethernet adapter in your GameCube.
  • After the registration form has been received your game system will be assigned an IP address within two business days which will allow your game system to connect online for the school year.
  • Remember, game systems fall under the same policies as computers ... be responsible!

How to set up your Nintendo DS

  • First insert a Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection compatible game and access the WFC Setup Utility. Please note that the exact steps to access the setup utility varies by game. However, the setup utility is a standard menu, included with all WFC-compatible games.
  • After accessing the utility, tap "Options," then "System Information."
  • The MAC Address and Nintendo WFC ID will be listed on the screen. Unless the game player has successfully connected with Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, the WFC ID will be blank.
  • Write down the MAC address and fill out this registration form.
  • After the registration form has been received your game system will be assigned an IP address within two business days which will allow your game system to connect online for the school year.

How to set up your PlayStation 2

To set up the PlayStation 2 on the network you must first install the network adapter according to the instructions found in the installation guide or on the PlayStation 2 Network Adapter web site. Once you have installed the network adapter you are ready to begin the registration process.

  • Power up the PlayStation 2 and load the Network Adapter Startup CD.
  • Once it has loaded, select ISP Setup and press X.
  • The ISP SETUP will begin to load, and you will be presented with a license agreement. Select Agree and press X to continue.
  • For connection type, choose Local Area Network (LAN) and press X to continue.
  • Select Automatic Configuration and press X to continue.
  • At the connection test screen, select Advanced and press X to continue.
  • At the Advanced Broadband Settings screen, make sure Automatic is selected. While you are at this screen, make note of the MAC Address at the bottom. You will need this number to register your game console.
  • To resiter your PlayStation 2 fill out this registration form.
  • After the registration form has been received your game system will be assigned an IP address within two business days which will allow your game system to connect online for the school year.
  • Remember, game systems fall under the same policies as computers ... be responsible!

To test the connection you will need to restart the ISP SETUP program. Perform the steps listed above. Make sure to plug your ethernet cable back into the PlayStation 2. Once the network connection test is successful press X to save the configuration to the memory card.
How to set up your PlayStation 3

To set up the PlayStation 3 follow these steps:
  • Power up the PlayStation 3 without any disc in the drive.
  • Once the PlayStation 3 operating system has loaded, select "Settings."
  • Once you are in "Settings" select "Network Settings."
  • When the "Network Settings" list appears, select the first option which is titled "Settings and Connection Status List."
  • Write down the "MAC Address." It will be alphanumeric and have the format xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx. Then fill out this registration form.
  • After the registration form has been received your game system will be assigned an IP address within two business days which will allow your game system to connect online for the school year.
  • Remember, game systems fall under the same policies as computers ... be responsible!

How to set up your X-Box

  • Turn on your Xbox console with no game disc in the disc tray.
  • From the Xbox Dashboard, choose Settings.
  • From the Settings screen, select Network Settings.
  • At the lower right-hand corner of the screen you will see "MAC=" followed by a combination of 12 numbers and letters. Write this down (this is your MAC address) and fill out this registration form.
  • After the registration form has been received your game system will be assigned an IP address within two business days which will allow your game system to connect online for the school year.
  • Remember, game systems fall under the same policies as computers ... be responsible!

To test the connection go back into the X-Box Live menu and then to the Network Settings. Scroll down and open the Connect menu. This will open a diagnostic menu that verifies that a connection can be made to the X-Box Live service. You should be online. Load an X-Box Live enabled game to test the configuration.
How to set up your X-Box 360

  • Go to the System area of the Xbox Dashboard and select Network Settings.
  • Select Edit Settings.
  • From Additional Settings, select Advanced Settings.
  • At the bottom of this screen you'll see a heading called Wired MAC Address.
  • Write this down (this is your MAC address) and fill out this registration form.
  • After the registration form has been received your game system will be assigned an IP address within two business days which will allow your game system to connect online for the school year.

How to set up your Nintendo Wii

If you have a web browser for the Nintendo Wii, you can connect to the internet with the web browser and fill out the registration form. If you do not have the web browser, please follow the steps below:
  • Turn on the Wii.
  • From the Wii Menu, select Wii Options. (It is the round button in the lower left corner that says "Wii".)
  • Select Wii Settings.
  • Scroll to the right to Wii System Settings 2.
  • Select Internet.
  • Select Console Information.
  • Write down the MAC address. It will be alphanumeric and have the format xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx. Then fill out this registration form.
  • After the registration form has been received your game system will be assigned an IP address within two business days which will allow your game system to connect online for the school year.
  • Remember, game systems fall under the same policies as computers ... be responsible!

How to set up other devices

For other network devices like Tivo systems, fill out this registration form For all other devices such as routers and wireless routers please contact the Help Desk. In most cases you will need to bring the device, power adapter, and any instruction manuals and/or installation CDs to the User Services office in Murray Hall to have them configured properly.

REMEMBER: you are responsible for any illegal activity that takes place from other people who may connect through your router or wireless router.
