Residence halls have a FREE cable TV service available in each room. There is always something to watch on GatorTV;
content includes topics such as news, sports, music, comedy, cartoons, and much more. You may end up having to hide
the remote if you and your roommate can't agree on what to watch.
College owned houses also have FREE cable TV service but it is provided by Armstrong Cable.
you will need a standard co-axial TV patch cable with F-connectors at each end. Computer Showcase, 108 Murray Hall, will sell these patch cables to students in varying lengths
Some students only receive channels 2 - 12 when trying to watch TV. This usually does not mean there is a problem
with the jack but with the set up of the equipment being used. To fix the problem do the following:
Depending on your configuration you need to make sure your television or VCR is set up so that the "signal source"
is configured to "cable" and not "antenna." You will need to consult your owner's manual for the equipment you are
configuring because every television and VCR has its own menu settings.
Residence Life, ASG and a selected group of students are responsible for the selection of the channels on GatorTV. The
decision is based on available channels and budget constraints.
Students must provide their own television set and co-axial TV patch cable. Students are responsible for the
cable-TV wall jacks in their rooms and they will be charged for any damages that occur to these jacks. Appropriate
action under the College Judicial System may be taken against any students who unlawfully provides and/or receives
access to any premium service.
